Nigerian terrorist group, Boko Haram on Monday, March 2, released a video which was remarkably similar to those usually published by the Islamic State group (ISIS).
The
video showed two men said to be spies being paraded and made to confess
before they were forced to kneel and beheaded by militants with knives.
Experts
have said that the new video shows that Boko Haram might have aligned
itself to its Middle-Eastern counterpart and that a partnership between
the two might be in view.
Here are five similarities between ISIS’ videos and Boko Haram’s latest clip:
- The video had a title, “Harvest of Spies”; ISIS usually names all of its gruesome videos in a similar manner.
- The victims were made to confess their 'crimes', like most ISIS captives usually do.
- The victims were made to kneel with one militant each behind them. The militants wore masks.
- The victims were beheaded with knives and their lifeless bodies shown in full view of the camera.
- The video was edited, showed the use of advanced graphics and was posted on social media in typical ISIS style.
