The "chief women media campaign officer" for Goodluck Jonathan
re-election bid, Patience Goodluck has composed many songs enough to wax
an album from the numerous rallies she has graced with her imposing
presence.
At the People's Democratic Party Women Campaign held recently at Lokoja in Kogi state, shedazzled the crowd with a sing along she composed on the spot..
She emphasized the numerous opportunities that her husband's government
has given women, from the seventy percent of his cabinet being women,
to the eligibility of women to enrolling for the regular combatant
course at the
NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy) among others.
“What is change? Why did you not change things when you were there? Is it now that you want to be doing the things you weren’t doing before?
“Jonathan looked at us and said women, I am giving you the position of the chief justice of this country. Okonjo-Iweala is a woman, Diezani is a woman. Seventy percent of his cabinet are women. “He also gave us the opportunity to start enrolling for the regular combatant course at the NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy).
“He wants continuity because he has vowed to do more. He places Nigerians in his mind and if he says he will do this, he will do it. So what are we looking for? If we women of Nigeria don’t appreciate Goodluck and we are looking for bus conductor, it is left for us.”
She further encouraged the women in attendance to pick up their PVC, so they will be eligible to vote.
“Remember that your vote is your power and it is good to vote wisely. Those of you that do not have PVC should endeavor to collect it because all these things you are doing is meaningless without PVC. "
Meanwhile, Mama Peace did not fail to mention that she brought some "me to you" gifts, like rice, meat, brocade and so on for the women at Lokoja in order to THANK them, not for electionsat all.
“I thank you very much the people of Kogi. This is time around I came to thank you very well. I brought some gift for you, I brought rice, I brought meat, I brought brocade. I brought many things for you. It is not for election but to thank you very well.”
Watch out! Mama Peace may be in your neighborhood next and you just might want to drop by to take home some cups of "thanksgiving" rice.
